This sweet baby girl was incredible at her newborn session. Just look at those full cheeks and sweet little face. I absolutely love photographing babies and capturing this precious time in my clients lives.

Sweet little N. was 10 days new. She was the perfect model. This family came to my home studio for the Petite newborn session. This session is baby ONLY for 30 min and you get 5 digital downloads. I provide all the outfits, wraps, headbands and props. However, if you would like to use anything special for the session I am more than willing to incorporate it into the session.

These are perfect for “mommy & me” sessions, anniversary portraits, or mother’s day gifts! All children should be at LEAST three months old to participate.

The sweetest new family of 4 here on my blog today! I was able to capture this adorable family a few years ago for her sons sessions and was so happy to have this couple back for their newborn and family photoshoot! I cannot get over their baby girl and how well she did for her session and Big brother was so good with her. Here are a handful of my favorites from this in home studio newborn session!

“A rainbow baby is a baby born shortly after the loss of a previous baby due to miscarriage, stillbirth, or death in infancy. This term is given to these special rainbow babies because a rainbow typically follows a storm, giving us hope of what’s to come.”

Sweet little H. is 10 days new and the most adorable rainbow baby. Her mom also owns horses so we used a saddle in a few images. Daddy is also retired from the military and we got some great shots as well. Newborn sessions can take place in the comfort of your own home or in my home studio. I can bring all the props and studio lights to you.

These newborn sessions are custom and we discuss the props and outfits you would like to use. I clean and sanitized all props after each session. I wear a mask and gloves during the sessions.

I usually encourage parents to bring baby to me when they are still under two weeks, or at least in the first month, if they want newborn style images of their sweet babies. But I know that cannot always happen. I would never turn away a client just because baby is “older”. I do, however, have to set expectations with the family. At 6+ wks old, I usually cannot get sleep curly newborn style images.

Sweet baby M. didn't fit the mold for a two month old baby girl. She slept for a little bit of her session and we were able to get some darling awake AND asleep shots of her. At this age if they do sleep I can usually only get them in one prop, asleep. Moving them usually wakes them. But she let us move her! It was definitely challenging, but SO worth the patience. I mean, how you can you resist these sweet images!

Oh and please take a moment to appreciate the best baby eyelashes I think I've ever seen! <3

I love doing in-home newborn sessions in the Richmond, VA area because my families just seem so relaxed for their sessions.  No rushing out the door and hoping not to have forgotten anything important.  sweet little girl was such a good baby for her newborn session and I got so many adorable photos of her that her family will treasure for years to come.
