I love the theme Where the Wild Things Are for a newborn session! It is so perfect for little boys. It was so much fun putting together this setup. Little G. was such a great sleeper for his session. His three older siblings just loved on him and was so adorable.

The 2019 Santa Mini Session Details
Santa will be coming to my studio on Sunday November 17th. Santa Mini Sessions will be held from 10am-12pm. Each family (kids only) will have 10 minutes with Santa. I first met Meg at Panera to discuss my idea of birth photography and newborn photography . We hit it off and she signed the contract right there. We chatted via email a few times and discussed the type of birth photography she envisioned. Meg was scheduled to be induced on the 10th of April. So, being on call was much easier since I knew what day I would be photographing her birth. She was admitted into the hospital around 7 a.m., she was 4 cm. and they broke her water. I figured since it was a induction this would take a while even though this was her second pregnancy. Needless to say she was a rock star and delivered her baby only 3.5 hrs after being admitted into the hospital. I can share a few great images from the birth.
I look forward to photographing little W. next week for his posed newborn photography session.
A beautiful early morning for a fall family session. The colors were gorgeous and so was the family.
We held our first ever Red Truck Minis the other day! The weather was great, the location was just turning colors, and everyone was happy! They went SO well, that I plan to offer them again on Dec. 15th limited spots available. Start thinking of your outfits now!
Please comment below with the time & EMAIL address so we can get you scheduled.

This sweet little boy was a dreamboat for his newborn session! I think that his family images might be some of my most favorite ever! He already has Mommy wrapped around his finger.
I am so blessed to be able to share in these special moments with so many families!
Jacki G. Photography is a Birth, Maternity, Newborn and family photographer located In Short Pump Virginia. We specialize in creating memories you can share for generations. My style is a mixture of lifestyle and posed. I use a lot of natural fabrics and make the subject the main focus while using minimal props.
Welcome Flint earth side. He was such a sweet newborn. His parents love Indian Jones so i tried to incorporate a brown hat into a few of the images. Flint was so handsome.
Sweet Everleigh is now six months old! She was one of my newborn clients. I really enjoy seeing the babies when they reach a new milestone in life and sitting up is just one of them! She was chalk full of smiles and proud of her new skill. I think you will see in her images! These sessions are short and sweet and we get an amazing variety of pictures from them. Contact me if you are interested in a custom sitter session for your little sitter!
Oh, Miss Aditi, 10 days new and just ! This sweet girl breezed through her sessions and owned each setup I custom designed just for her. The neutrals with a mix of soft girl colors brought out her beautiful complexion. Aditi was a posing natural!
“Enjoy the little things in life, Because one day you will look back And realize they were the big things.”
Newborn sessions hold a special place in our heart. The ridiculous amount of love and happiness that fills the home always brings back a flood of memories of our own special time. There’s nothing more exciting than a brand new bundle of joy, and despite the lack of sleep and endless diaper changes, everyone is in awe of this sweet little bundle of joy.
Planning for your family photography session can seem overwhelming. There are so many factors that can influence your end result and are worth consideration prior to your shoot. And while your family photographer can remain fluid and flexible with respect to timing and location, and session structure, it is helpful if you – the client – considers your goals and planning points.
Your family photography session should be relaxed and fun, but keep in mind that it is an investment, and an important one that perhaps you’ve been saving for. With a little bit of extra thought and planning, you can be assured you are more than satisfied (and perhaps a little amazed!) with the final results!
When planning your family photography session, think about these 4 key “W” questions:
1. When (time of year),
2. Where (beach, city, park, meadow, home),
3. What time (time of day)
4. What to wear (casual, traditional, preppy, trendy, etc.)
And while you nail down those basic planning elements, take a step back and think about what you will DO with your images. Do you plan to:
• Create a keepsake album or coffee table book?
• Display images on your walls, and if so, to what size… will they be framed or canvases?
• Give gift prints?
• Share the images online and use in your personal photobooks and slideshows?
Once you’ve thought through those items, you will want to consider your family’s personality, your style, and the decor of your home.
• What type of family are you (sporty, preppy, beachy, traditional, casual)?
• Which room(s) are you most likely to display your images (foyer, family room, hallway/staircase, living room, bedroom)?
• What is the style, decor and color of that area (warm, cool, formal, modern, beachy, cottage, traditional)?
Next, describe your dream images – if you could have 5 images come out of your session, what would they look like?
Armed with these answers, regroup with your photographer and communicate your vision. Together you can come up with a game plan that will ensure you are on the same page and allow your photographer to deliver the type of images you have always dreamed of having for your home. Additionally, once you view your gallery, you are not arbitrarily looking at images, but instead selecting them with your specific goals in mind.
To make sense of this, consider viewing a gallery in two scenarios:
1. Without Family Photography Session Planning: “Huh, well, I like the family ones, but they are cropped tight and you can’t see the landscape and I think it will look funny over the beach house fireplace… plus, our winter, formal clothes don’t match the beachy decor.”
2. With Session Planning: ”Awesome, this is exactly what we wanted for the focal point wall gallery in the family room. I love it! The beach backdrop, the colors and our outfits are exactly what I had in mind when I thought of a story-telling canvas collection for above the fireplace.”
Remember, it’s your family photography session. You probably don’t have time (or energy) to repeat it at this exact stage in your life, so make sure that you stack the deck in your favor the first time! Your planning, preparation and communication will surely pay off and you will have personal art in your home that makes you smile every day, for years and years to come. Isn’t that what custom photography is all about? We think so.
Thanks so much to Design Aglow (DesignAglow.com) for this incredibly helpful article!!
We captured so many special moments with little Ellie, she was so smiley and adorable for her first "real" photo session. I look forward to capturing her grown through her first year.
Toddlers are messy. They’re chaotic. They’re perpetually sticky.
But, regardless of the craziness, a single smile or giggle makes it all worthwhile.
They have the uncanny power to melt your heart, and there truly is no greater joy.
As parents ourselves of three little bundles of energy, we love to embrace the genuine moments of your family having fun and enjoying yourself. There are the images that bring happiness for so many years to come. I photographed Alex as a baby and look how big he has gotten at about 18 months old he was into everything, :)
We love capturing our newborn clients as they grow bigger in size… and personality! Always bittersweet when a baby's first year client comes to the end of one year session. I've loved watching Maddie's personality grow. One-year olds are such fun to photograph! I prefer the outdoors setting for this age, as it offers plenty of room for them to crawl and toddle around. Letting them to play naturally and explore their environment makes for great shots.
Beautiful Everleigh was such a pleasure to photograph. I feel pretty fortunate to call THIS my job. Congratulations to Tricia and Brian. You guys are beautiful on the inside and out! Its been a pleasure getting to see your family grow and documenting your life for the past two years. Best wishes to your beautiful family! Enjoy these memories we captured <3
I fell in love with this sweet, beautiful family the first time we met. I photographed the birth of their first baby and had the honor of photographing this babies as well. This was the most lovely experience , working alongside two incredible birth workers Midwife and their doula (Amy). The birth was fast and amazing. Patricia was a Rock Star! The family chose not to find out their baby's gender until the birth. I hope you love reliving the day E. came earth side just as much as i have while piecing their story together.
Last week i was able to hang out with this lovely family again to capture Conner's 6 month milestone and some sibling photos. I photographed Conner as a newborn and love when families come to see me again for their babies milestones. Here is a sneak peek from my session with Conner.
I met Emily a few years ago as i was her doula for her first baby. I was so excited to hear that she was expecting again. I was even more excited when she contacted me to do her sweet little girls newborn portraits. Isabelle was just perfect and i had great company while doing her session. Here are a few from our session of Miss. Isabelle.
